Meatballs…(From Harlene)

6 Jan

Here is my meatball recipe!!!… 🙂 It really simple.

Meat: 1Pound ground-beef from Wholefoods. (please support our local farmers, help Hawaii become more sustainable!) But you can use any bround meat that you want to & it doesnt need to be from wholefoods but i recommended it.

(turkey, lamb, bison, chicken etc…)

Veggies: Spinach, red bell peppers, & onions. For the spinach i coarsely chopped it (so it wouldnt be all sringy in my finished product)

**What i did was, i the blanched the veggies so it would soften up a bit. Then i drained the water, took the veggies out & gave it another chop through with my knife.

Once everything was done i incorporated the veggies into the meat & evenly combined it! After all the mushing & binding add the spices in! Salt, pepper, oregano, chill falkes (whatever you want to make it your own)

IN ADDITION: you can also combine an egg or two with your meat & veggie mixture (to make it more moist) & if your felling adventurous you can add in ketchup, bbq sauce, or even just tomato sauce.

-Now for the TIP!-

when i cook my meatballs i put them into a cupcake/muffin pan. The recipe above usually makes 12 if not thats perfectly fine.

I bake it for about and hour on 400F. Once they’re done take the meatballs out off pan, when the meatballs are in another container or bowl, throwaway the oil in the cupcake/muffin pan.

  • You can eat them with spaghetti
  • if your like me & sometimes are tired of eating boiled eggs i usually have a meatball
  • you can slice them up & put them on top of a salad
  • you can also put them in soup
